The first consultation is usually split over two sessions. Once you have a practice it is appropriate to meet with your teacher from time to time, to check that you are practising it correctly and to update it in accordance with changes as they take place.
The number of sessions you may have will depend on your situation and needs. Generally a few sessions are held over the first month, then less frequently as the practice progresses.
Pricing
We start initially with two consultations, the first session involves an indepth evaluation process, and the second session we teach you your practice and share any relevant lifestyle guidelines. After that follow up sessions review and update the practice based on your needs and progression. The pricing noted here is per consultation.
The goal is for this service to be financially accessible to all who wish to receive Yoga therapy, if you need it, please inquire about a sliding scale option.

How Yoga Therapy Works
We aim to support healing and growth by addressing the root of your challenge, not just by relieving symptoms at the surface. Depending on your situation, we may work with a combination of the following layers and tools:
Physical Body
Annamaya
The goal is to restore, strengthen and improve the functioning of the body’s organs and systems. The tools we use may include Yoga postures (asana), diet and nutrition, lifestyle adjustments, adequate rest and appropriate exercise. Yoga Therapy can be used in conjunction with allopathic, naturopathic, homeopathic, Ayurvedic, and Chinese medical systems.
Energy Body
Pranamaya
The core principle is to support the free flow of prana (life energy) and to release pranic blockages in your system, which are often at the root of physical or mental illness. We support the free flow of energy in the system through the tool of breath, which may be integrated with and also independent from asana, as well as time in nature. We can work alongside other energy healing systems if the student wishes e.g. acupuncture, acupressure, reiki, pranic healing.
Mental Body
Manomaya
Many health and stress related difficulties can originate from the mind, so we work with the student to cultivate a more relaxed, grounded, clear and positive mental state. We might integrate practices such as sound and chanting, guided rest (e.g. yoga nidra), meditation, creative or nourishing activities (e.g. time with loved ones, animals, music). We may also work in collaboration with psychologists or other mental health professionals.
Wisdom Body
Vijnanamaya
Sometimes unwellness can be linked to deeper causes or linked to a lack of alignment with one’s inner calling. In these cases, we may work with prayer visualisation, meditation, support with major life transitions.

Our Students love the feeling that a regular Yoga practice brings
Frequently asked Questions
1. What is Yoga Therapy, and how is it different from a regular yoga class?
Yoga Therapy is a personalised, one-on-one approach that uses the tools of yoga to support healing on a physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual level. Unlike general yoga classes, your practice is tailored to your unique needs and health goals.
2. How is Yoga Therapy different from seeing a psychologist or counsellor?
While both can support mental and emotional wellbeing, Yoga Therapy works holistically by integrating the body, breath, mind, and spirit. Rather than talking through problems alone, we use yogic tools like movement, breathwork, sound, and meditation to shift patterns at a deeper level. It’s not a substitute for psychological care but can work beautifully alongside it.
3. What kinds of health issues can Yoga Therapy help with?
Yoga Therapy can support a wide range of issues such as stress, anxiety, auto-immune conditions, chronic pain, injury recovery, sleep disorders, digestive challenges, women’s health, cancer, and more. It works alongside any medical or therapeutic treatment you are already receiving.
4. What happens in the initial consultation?
The initial consultation is split into two one-hour sessions. Prior to the first session, your Yoga Therapist will ask you to complete an intake form and then at this session we will discuss your health history, challenges, and goals. In the second session, you will receive your personalised yoga practice with written instructions, plus lifestyle and dietary guidance as needed.
5. What should I wear and bring to my Yoga Therapy session?
Wear comfortable clothing that allows you to move easily, like you would for a gentle yoga or stretching class. Bring a water bottle and your completed intake form (if not submitted online). All yoga props will be provided, but feel free to bring your own mat if you prefer.
6. Where will my Yoga Therapy session take place?
Your session can be held online, at your home, or at another mutually agreed location. Your Yoga Therapist will work with you to find a space that’s comfortable, private, and accessible for both of you.
7. Do I need to have yoga experience?
No prior experience is needed. Your Yoga Therapist will meet you exactly where you are, and your practice will be simple, achievable, and suited to your current capacity and lifestyle.
8. Who will I work with?
Your initial consultation is led by Deepa, with one of our local therapists also present. Afterward, you’ll continue working with your local therapist, while Deepa stays involved in overseeing your progress.
9. How often will I need follow-up sessions?
Follow-ups are scheduled based on your needs. Some people check in every few weeks, others every few months. Your therapist will guide you based on your progress and goals.
10. What if I don’t see immediate results?
Yoga Therapy works at a deep level and often takes time. With consistent practice and patience, many students experience lasting transformation.
11. How do I book?
Simply fill out the form on our website. We will then contact you to confirm your booking, answer any questions, and match you with the right therapist.
12. Can I do this while receiving other treatments?
Yes! Yoga Therapy is designed to complement all other health systems, including medical, psychological, or alternative therapies.
